The Frank Friar

Welcome to The Frank Friar Website!

I am The Frank Friar, aka Fr. Nicholas. I served my country through the Peace Corps. Now, I am a Carmelite Friar serving God in the Catholic Church. One of our Carmelite saints, St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein), wrote, “If anyone comes to me, I want to lead them to Him.” I believe my Carmelite Spirituality is a gift that is meant to be given and shared with people; that is why I started this website, podcastblog, and YouTube channel. The Presence of Carmelite Prayer in the Church has been witnessed throughout 800 years. Still, recently we were told that Carmelites are “Those that teach us to Pray” wisdom spoken to the Order of Carmelites Vocation Page by both Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. As Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection wrote, “We can do little things for God.” My social media ministry is the little thing that I am trying to give to all for God as I try to live up to Carmel’s calling. I hope that my words and thoughts help you on your discipleship journey. I pray that your love may be strengthened through these little things. As St. Therese of Lisieux wrote, “To love means to give everything and to give oneself.” I am trying to give all I have for this work you find on and through this page. Thank you, and know that I am praying for you!
